Thank you to our church family for all the donations and purchases that helped the Ruth Circle raise over $5,000 for missions! That money will go a long way toward our local, national and international programs that support women and children. Plus, the rummage sale was an opportunity for us to share what we have with others and interact with the community. A special thank you to Barbara Webster who took charge of this project and made it a success.

Need Help?
Hurricane Irma Preparation
Your church family cares about you and the community. We are all being affected by Hurricane Irma. While we don’t know the severity of the storm, we do know there will be an impact. The purpose of this announcement is to assess the needs and the resources available. By selecting one of the two options below, you will be helping us identify those needs and coordinate willing help.
The church campus will be closed Sunday and Monday, Sept. 10 & 11.
All activities are canceled.
Click here if you’re able to help: (ex: host a guest, make check-in phone calls, help with minor clean up)

Responding to Hurricane Harvey
Responding to Hurricane Harvey
Over the last week, as we have watched the tragic events in coastal areas of Texas unfold, our hearts have gone out to the people of Houston and the surrounding areas. We all feel the urge to be the hands of Jesus in a time like this and we feel the call to respond.
The United Methodist Church is in a great position to do just that. Our own United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is poised to react in any disaster, and UMCOR has trained Disaster Relief specialists on the ground in the Houston area.
At this time, they are requesting donations to help them best serve all the people in need in the area. This Sunday, and each Sunday in September, we will be accepting donations to UMCOR, with 100% of your donation going directly to disaster relief. Look for the orange buckets after each service to drop cash or checks. Or, you can help by making an on-line donation using the link here (select UMCOR fund):

We have been in contact with a pastor at a local Houston church, who is a friend of Rev. Jayne Rideout. This particular church was deeply impacted, as some church staff and congregation members have lost everything. We are making a church-wide commitment to partner with this Houston-area church for the coming year. In this time of chaos and uncertainty, they are still unclear on what their greatest and most immediate needs are, but we will remain in contact with them. Watch for more information as we inform our congregation of opportunities to serve our Houston neighbors in the coming weeks, months and year.
H.E.A.R.T. Mission Trip!
Our youth are currently on a mission trip in Polk County called H.E.A.R.T. During this mission trip, they are living in a Third World Country simulation. During the day they are doing service projects in the community such as roofing, working in a thrift store, and painting houses. Our
intern, Caroline Alessandro, described the experience as “… a great week getting to serve and connect with students!”
Panua Trip, Day 3: God is good
God is good all the time, all the time God is good!
Today we an the youth at Karagita, Sanctuary & Airstrip got to introduce the person we sat beside. It was fun to have the one on one time with our Panua youth as we got to get to know them better.
We celebrated the first year anniversary & ate lunch at Lillian’s Cafe a Panua graduate. She has 4 employees – 2 of which are current Panua youth in training. Lillian is thriving & an in demand chef for nearby hotels when they need assistance.
We ended our day assisting 3 of our youth carpenters in training to make beds for 2 of our youth that has never had a bed.
As we prepare to sleep tonight in our beds, I am thankful to lay my head on a soft pillow & rest for the night in my bed.
Praying for everyone here and at home. Blessed to be with brothers & sisters of our Heavenly Father 7,962 miles away from Winter Park
Panua Trip, Day 2: Letters and Bibles
What an extraordinary day on our 2nd day in Naivasha. We met with our first group of over 60 of our Panua Youth at the Trinity United Methodist Church. They had such joy in their eyes when they read their letters from their prayer partners. We got to hear some of their stories of how they were doing and sang with them as we celebrated our time together.
We blessed them each with a Bible as most of the youth did not own a Bible and a book mark. In one of the groups, each youth got to share a meaningful bible passage. The photo of these young ladies expresses the gratitude that they feel for the support they receive from us.
Jambo from the Panua mission team!
