First United Methodist Church

Service Times

9am Contemporary | 11am Traditional

This Advent, we celebrate the God who is making all things new. In the birth of Christ, we see not just repair or restoration—but transformation. God’s renewing work is unfolding in us, around us, and through us, bringing hope to weary hearts and light to a waiting world. Each week, we’ll reflect on how Christ’s coming transforms our lives with hope, joy, love, and peace, inviting us to see the world through the lens of God’s new creation.

  • Week 1: Nov. 30, 9am Contemporary & 11am Traditional
  • Week 2: Dec. 7, 9am & 11am (Festival Gloria)
  • Week 3: Dec. 14, 9am Contemporary & 11am Traditional
  • Week 4: Dec. 21, 9am Contemporary & 11am Traditional

Join us for our annual service of music for Christmas, featuring the Christmas Festival choir and professional orchestra. You will hear and sing beloved carols beautifully arranged for choir and congregation, including this year’s spectacular Gloria that will kickoff our Advent season. The service will focus our hearts and minds on the four themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Invite your friends and family to share in the wonder and joy of the season!

Both services will be held in the sanctuary (no 9am contemporary service). Nursery will be available.

This Advent...Make Space for Something New

It’s a busy season for all of us…not usually a season we think about making space in our lives. But let’s try it this year. Let’s take a cue from Hebrews 10:24 and stir up one another to love and good works.

Ask God how to use your time, talents, gifts and prayers. Prayerfully consider making space this year, maybe even in a way that moves you out of your comfort zone or leaves you feeling unsure. Don’t worry, we’ll sit with you there.
