Wonderfully Made Ministry

Our Vision:

Our vision is to build a church community where every individual belongs, every family feels supported, and every person can experience the fullness of God’s grace. Through fellowship opportunities, sensory-friendly support, respite programs, and compassionate volunteers, Wonderfully Made strives to reflect the love of Jesus by serving families with dignity, joy, and understanding.

Wonderfully Made is the special needs ministry of First United Methodist Church of Winter Park dedicated to creating an inclusive faith community where every person is welcomed, valued, and empowered to share their unique gifts and talents. Rooted in God’s love for all people, our ministry seeks to ensure that individuals and families of all abilities can fully participate in the life of the church and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Opportunities to Get Involved:

In partnership with Nathaniel’s Hope, Wonderfully Made is excited to offer Buddy Brek – a free respite and fellowship program for children with special needs and their siblings. During Buddy Break, children enjoy a fun-filled time of games, crafts, worship, and friendship in a safe and welcoming environment led by trained volunteers and buddies.

While children are cared for and encouraged, parents and caregivers are given a few hours to rest, recharge, or simply enjoy time to themselves. Buddy Break reflects our commitment to creating a church community where every family is supported, included, and reminded of God’s love.

Stay tuned for upcoming training and respite dates!

Past Events:

Wonderfully Made Kickoff

The questions we carry are important. If you’re curious about LGBTQ inclusion, antiracism, or Christian nationalism, we would recommend these books and documentaries from past programs as rich starting places for independent or small group study.

Make m' Smile 2026

Wonderfully Made had the joy of attending the 24th Annual Make ’m Smile event in support of Nathaniel’s Hope and the special needs families in our community. It was a wonderful afternoon at Lake Eola, with more than 3,000 people in attendance. Alongside First United Methodist Church of Orlando, we hosted a fun craft and enjoyed sharing smiles, laughter, and fellowship with so many families.
