Pastor David is celebrating his 30th year in ministry! Over the past 6 years, Pastor David has blessed our church family with his preaching and leadership. July 2021 will be the start of his 7th year with our church. The United Methodist denomination sets guidelines and provisions for our clergy. One of the common practices among clergy at different milestones is taking a period of renewal leave. Renewal leave affords clergy time to renew themselves and their calling. Our church family extended a period of renewal leave with our previous senior pastor, Rev. Dr. Bob Bushong, and our previous associate pastors, Rev. Jayne & Rev. Gary Rideout. In honor of Pastor David’s 30 years in ministry, the Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to offer Pastor David renewal leave from April 15th to July 15th, 2021.
During Pastor David’s renewal leave, Pastor Rachel will serve as our lead minister. Both she and Rev. Dr. Jon will co-manage the ministerial duties of our church family. And, although Pastor Craig is serving in an interim role at another local UMC church until July, he will be a part of the preaching lineup during Pastor David’s renewal leave.
