Our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Helene & Milton. During this time, you can help too! Please keep those affected in your prayers and consider supporting by volunteering with the Florida Conference Disaster Response Team, donating to their disaster relief fund, or creating cleaning kits.

Volunteers Needed

As with any disaster, it often takes time to safely and effectively coordinate volunteer efforts. Our Florida Conference disaster team, along with other staff, have been traveling to the affected areas, meeting with pastors and community members, and conducting site assessments. Here’s how you can help right now:

Cedar Key: Cedar Key has suffered extensive damage. Volunteers can stay at Ellzey United Methodist Church, which offers housing with a shower, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a large room, and the sanctuary. Volunteers will need to bring their own food, bedding, tools, and other essentials. Their efforts will focus on cleaning out homes in the area.

Steinhatchee: Steinhatchee has also suffered extensive damage. Our conference team has personnel on the ground, and we expect to have a plan in place soon to deploy volunteers for debris removal, mucking out, and general support. 
 
Madison/Pinetta: Hundreds of homes have been affected by wind and rain. Volunteer teams are currently being deployed to do tree/debris removal, tarping, and in some cases clean outs. Volunteers are being housed at the Pinetta Baptist Church. 
 
Pinellas County: The Conference is coordinating both individual and volunteer teams to do clean-outs and tarping. Housing is available for groups looking to stay overnight but Done-in-a-Day groups are also needed.

UMCOR Cleaning Kits

Drop off Completed kits and Individual Supplies by October 30th.

Help those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton to continue the overwhelming job of cleaning up. Complete a Cleaning Kit with your family or connect group and drop it off at the church.  Click the link below to receive step-by-step instructions on how to assemble cleaning kits.

How to Assemble a Kit

Drop off individual supplies or use this Amazon Wishlist to send supplies directly to the church.

Bring individual supplies and completed kits M – F to the church office (9am-4pm) or place them in the red bins in the courtyard on Sunday mornings or M-F (8am-7pm).
