Community Outreach

Below are local organizations that are doing fantastic work. There are opportunities for all ages, even for families, to serve together! Our focus is on organizations that help facilitate mutual relationships rather than one-way service. Explore more at the links below.

Family Promise of Greater Orlando helps families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable housing and self-sufficiency through a community-based response.

The Jobs Partnership of Florida provides cohort-based job mentoring through a robust curriculum empowering people to sustain growth-oriented employment through a Christian framework.

August 25 is a time for celebration! Over the past ten months, a team led by Pastor Rachel, Anita Williams, and joined by other FUMCWP volunteers met with Jobs Partnership staff to discuss how to address the needs of those who are underemployed. Beginning this August, 20 students and 10 volunteer coaches and leaders from FUMCWP will meet weekly at the Reeves Center for our Fall class.

Killarney Elementary is our school partner. After a year of online learning, there is a great need for tutors to spend an hour a week with 3rd-5th graders who have fallen behind and need a little extra love and encouragement.

If you are interested in serving with Killarney Elementary, please email Victoria Vaden at [email protected].
