Join us on Ash Wednesday, March 5, as we begin the Lenten season. On Ash Wednesday we are offered the opportunity to receive a cross of ashes on our foreheads. We are reminded of the Biblical passage, “You are dust and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19). In the Bible, the imposition of ashes is associated with sorrow over sins.
Our Ash Wednesday Worship Service will take place on March 5 at 7pm in the Sanctuary. This service will also be live streamed on our FUMCWP website and nursery will be available.
If you cannot attend our evening service, you may receive Ashes during these other opportunities:
- Pastors will be on the sidewalk in front of the Sanctuary at FUMCWP and on the Reeves Campus from 8:30am-9:15am for prayer and to administer ashes.
- At the lunch time hour, join Pastor Rachel from 12-1pm in the Marcy Chapel for prayer and the imposition on ashes. This is a come and go time of receiving.
