Foundry Update

As a new ministry, we began the year with several goals.
  1. Launch a human development program for young adults who have aged out of foster care, particularly those who are young mothers.
  2. Invite our church family into this venerable community.
  3. Provide a secure foundation for these young adults to help them achieve their goals and dreams in a Christian framework.
  4. Help our church be known as creative difference makers that are engaged in Orlando and have made a difference to solve the foster care crisis.
In the 2nd quarter of 2019, we launched the program which has built trusting relationships between 4 mentees and mentors. We gathered each month for dinner to spend time training and offering tools to help the mentees reach their goals. We also celebrated accomplishments and special life events – surrounding them with the full support of our entire Foundry community.
We are excited to announce that we are on schedule to launch our 3 rd quarter goal to add more mentees and mentors. Our fall kick-off will be held on Oct. 26, bringing the new mentees, and mentors into the program at our monthly dinner.
