COVID-19 Missions Response

Ways to Serve

UP Orlando

United Against Poverty/UP Orlando has been designated an official drop-off site for items needed for the community to face the CoVid 19 health crisis. You can see a list of needed items on the flyer below. In addition to the items listed on the flyer, they are also anticipating a rise in requests for food, straining their busy emergency food pantry. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to meet the needs of our community.  All donated items may be dropped directly at UP Orlando (see flyer) or in the Red Bin at the Circle Drive Sun-Fri.

Family Promise

Family Promise has made the careful and thoughtful decision to house all families at hotels during this time of social distancing. But they still need help to feed families! If you are in a position to prepare a meal for the group or to donate grocery gift cards (Pulix, Walmart, etc.), they can be put to good use at this time. To donate a meal, you may link directly to their sign up by clicking here. Meals will be dropped to the Day Center (address below) and delivered to families by their staff.

Gift card donations may be mailed or dropped to the Family Promise Office/Day Center at 1000 Clay Street, Winter Park, FL 32789.

Thank you for blessing our community in these difficult times.

Oneblood

With all the social distancing and quarantining taking place, blood donations have fallen drastically! We have many loyal blood donors in our Church Family so we are encouraging all who are comfortable to find a way to donate by tracking the Big Red Bus (oneblood.org) or by visiting our local One Blood Center, 2242 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792. Your gift gives life!

Daily Bread

There is also an urgent need for those willing to help serve meals to our homeless neighbors with Daily Bread at Christian Service Center! See note below for changes to the serving process. Please contact Amy Bryant at [email protected] if you would like to help serve!

(Note: All meals will be plated in the kitchen in to-go containers and then will be distributed by their staff outside to comply with recommended social distancing guidelines. There will be very limited (if any) volunteer contact with our guests. We will continue to serve outside until further notice.)

Society of St. Andrew

Great family fun that helps our local food pantries! If your family needs a break from distance learning, join the Society of St. Andrew as they help get food from the fields to the tables in central Florida. This awesome organization needs volunteers to help glean “left over crops” to get this beautiful produce into the homes of those in need. There are projects all over the area – find one that suits your schedule!
